The scales of justice,
Tip, and tip again.
But the scale of these events,
Might help doom humanity.
Unrest may be human,
And so is compassion.
Although the scales tip,
Eventually, there is always equilibrium.

I have been cruel.
I don't know if it was necessary.
I don't know if it was deserved.
All I know is that I have been cruel.
Why was it so?
Do I even regret it?
Have I truly stooped so low in this life?
The thought plagues me.
I know not what I have done,
But the thorns around my heart
Constrict with knowing silence.
They were merely words,
Having no effect on the receiver.
But I must live
Knowing I have been cruel.

Slipping away,
Feeling unseen,
Can anyone see me?
Do I want them to?
– Arsh
Left me alone,
Fending for myself,
Abandoned again.
I got back up again,
Left you behind in the dust,
Now I'm in the light.
– Arsh
Ethereal Goddess,
Can we say that we tried?
Just this once?
Magnificent disaster,
Trying was not enough,
It never is.
– Arsh
Talking low
And talking smooth,
Effortlessly charismatic.
Yet every effort has
Gone to waste.
They lied.
– Arsh
Eloquently speaking,
Yet slowly sinking.
No silver-tongue can
Help me now.
Suddenly drowning,
Yet, irreversibly hoping.
No hero can
Save me now.
– Arsh
Across the pond filled with reeds,
The lone soldier's tall figure heaves.
Weary of his deeds,
He is now one with the weeds.
One can only hope that he finds peace,
And that his soul is now at ease.

What gives an entity humanity?
It cannot be love,
For some humans don't feel it,
Though they are as human as everyone else.
What gives someone humanity?
It cannot be empathy,
For some people don't feel it,
Though they are as human as everyone else.
What gives someone
The right to decide another's humanity?
For humanity is an oft debated subject,
That no one knows the answer to.
Our humanity doesn't define us,
As we can't define our humanity.
So what makes us any different
From non-human entities?

Walk through the Hearth
As you would ice,
And from the cold flames
Your new self will rise.
Behead your past,
Be off with its head.
After the Flames have cleansed you,
You will freeze your dread.
Succumb to the Cold,
Invite the warmth of the Fireplace
For your sins have been frozen,
But your pitiful self remains.
